What Anime Series?

On of my favourite anime series was a short run one of only 13 episodes, This anime was Haibane Renmei. A very brief synopsis is: We are in a town, that has long since been forgotten, were humans and Haibanes live side by side. Haibane Reki discovers a coccon that contains a girl who will be named Rakka. When Rakka is 'born' she has no memory of her previous life or what has happened to her,and is badly disoriented. Within a very short time Rakka's wings develope, something that is a slow process and very painful, but is made all the easier with the help of Reki. Once Rakka has recovered she receives her Haibane Halo, which has to be fixed to a wire and her head whilst is 'fixes' itself in place. Soon Rakka learns that she has just become a Haibane, an angelic being, and resides in a mysterious walled city.

It is a lovely heartfelt story, beautifully drawn and animated. I love the music too, so gentle, much like this delightful Anime.
